We know how hard it is to take off work and pay for travel, so here is what we can do to help you overcome those obstacles:

  • Most of our guided group trips overlap the weekend and/or national holidays to allow minimal time off from work or school 

  • Each guided group trip is planned and accompanied by an experienced PAPER • PLANES • PASSPORTS staff member

  • We offer payment plans for airline tickets, hotels, private villas, excursions, and meals

  • We offer early-bird specials that allow you to put down a minimum amount or less to reserve any trip for limited periods of time. Valid only for regular priced trips & must be paid in full 60 days prior to the departure date

When should I make my reservation?

Can PPP hold a spot on a tour for me?

If you have your heart set on a certain tour at a certain time (and at its current price), we recommend you make your reservation as early as possible—six months to a year in advance is a good rule of thumb. To reserve a place on most tours, a deposit per person is required. Check each trip page for specific deposit requirements. Prices are subject to change at any time.


Do you accept payment plans?

Of course, select the Installments options on the trip you want to go on. Pay the rest of your balance at your own pace by making payments at any time. When you’re enrolled in the Manual Payment Plan, your final payment will be due 60 days prior to departure for most tours (90 days prior to departure for Land & Cruise Tours and Tailor-made Tours).


What if the trip I have my heart set on is sold out?

Just because a tour is sold out doesn’t mean you are out of options for taking the trip of your dreams. If we can make it happen, we will. Please call a Tour Consultant at 1.312.285.4428. They can try to accommodate your request or let you know about newly added departure dates that might work with your schedule.


What is the cancellation policy?

4reignXchange Credits :

We understand that the unexpected happens at all of us and can disrupt even the best laid out plans. For that reason, we have developed a very flexible transfer or "4reignxchange " policy.

4reignXchange Credits are the exact dollar amount you paid for your trip with us. Credits may be redeemed within 365 days of the original travel date. You are allowed 1 transfer within 1years time of the deposit date. To hold funds for trips outside of 1 year, a $75 fee is to be paid prior to 30 days of deposit date expiration. Transfers fees can be paid via PayPal.  

Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Cancellations and refund requests must be in writing via email to paperplanesandpassports@gmail.com and cannot be made verbally. If a cancellation is received in writing by PAPER • PLANES • PASSPORTS at least 30 days before the final payment due date of your trip, the non- refundable deposit will be retained in addition to any airline, hotel/accommodations, or excursion imposed fees or cancellation charges. The remaining balance may be put towards a future PAPER • PLANES • PASSPORTS event taking place within 365 days of the cancellation approval.


The cancellation/refund schedule is as follows:

  1. All deposits are non-refundable after 10 days of booking.

  2. All trip packages must be paid in full 60 days prior to the trip departure date. Failure to complete your payment will result in the cancellation of your trip without a refund.

  3. Contact us at least 30 days' notice prior to the trip date via email to paperplanesandpassports@gmail.com and we will transfer your 4reignxchange Credits to any other Guided Group Trip within 365 days of the original trip date. Keep in mind, your credits expire in the 1year of deposit date. You must pay $75 to hold and transfer to another trip beyond 1 year. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for full monetary reimbursement. 


Emergency Cancellation within 30 days 

Refer to your travel insurance:

If you need to cancel your trip due to a last-minute emergency your travel insurance may cover you for some expenses.  You'll need to consult directly with the company you purchased a plan through for specifics.  *We are not able to hold, transfer or gift any funds paid within 30 days of the trip start date. We've tried to make this as simple as possible for you...just give us at least 30 days notice prior to the trip date via email to paperplanesandpassports@gmail.com and we'll transfer your 4reignxchange Credits to any other Guided Group Trip within 365 days of the trip date.  Don't worry if you can't commit to another trip date right now.  When you're able to make time for another experience just let us know what trip you want to use your credits for within 365 days of the original trip date. You are allowed 1 transfer within 1 year's time of the deposit date. To hold funds for trips outside of 1 year, a $75 fee is to be paid prior to 30 days of the original deposit date. Transfers fees can be paid via PayPal.  


4reignXchange Credits are Giftable!
Can't travel with us within 365 days?  You can give the gift of travel to your friends and family. 

This policy is for all travelers on all trips unless otherwise stated at signup or on the trip page.

  • 4reignXchange credits are 100% transferable to anyone you like ages 21 & older

  • 4reignXchange Credits are able to be gifted one time only

  • 4reignXchange Credits are able to be transferred for free to another trip one time only within 365 days of the original trip date. 

  • Credits are only valid for 1 year of your original trip date. You are responsible for transferring credits outside of 1 yr date. A transfer fee of $75 is required to hold funds after 1 year of the original deposit date and must be paid 30 days prior to the expiration date (first deposit date).

Forced Cancellation
In the event of a cancellation or change by PAPER • PLANES • PASSPORTS or our suppliers because of weather conditions, political views, or lack of participants all paid guests will be entitled to a full refund including deposit.


What are your deposit & refund policies?

Most trips offer the chance to reserve your seat with a deposit for a limited time. Some trips have specific deposit requirements. Please refer to the detailed information listed on the trip page. After the deposit has been paid, the remaining balance is due 60 days before departure. Failure to pay your trip balance on time will result in the loss of your deposit and any funds paid towards the trip.

Prices are subject to change without notice. We offer early bird price specials for a limited time only. To secure the price of a trip, it's best to put down your deposit. Subscribe for flash sales and coupon updates.

How do villas work?

We usually stay in private villas or boutique hotels. In villas, bathrooms could be shared depending on the travel location or amount of people in a group. In boutique hotels, bathrooms are private and will only be shared with your roommate.  Please review the specific trip itinerary for accommodation information or contact us for further details. 

  • Single Private occupancy- means 1 person to a bedroom. The bathroom could be shared. Contact us if you require a private bathroom. 

  • Double Occupancy- 2 people, same-sex, 2 beds per room.

  • Couples Occupancy- 2 people, same/different sex, sharing 1 bed in a room.

How does booking flights work?

We can book your flights for you or you may do it yourself. We offer payment plans on most flights booked within 90 days of the departure date. We also provide detailed instructions for arrival and departure in the itinerary of each destination. Flights are never included in our prices unless noted on the specific trip itinerary. But of course, we can help you find some options, Click here to browse and book flights.


  • After registration, we send out flight booking instructions that detail when you should plan to arrive and depart.  Please don't book your flight until you hear from us.

  • Each trip has different flight instructions so feel free to ask for help!

  • If booking a flight outside of our designated times and location, you will be responsible for your own accommodations and transportation costs to and/or from the airport.

What about travel insurance? Do I need it? What does it cover?

Each attendee will be responsible for booking their own travel insurance 30 days prior to attending our trips.  It is mandatory that all attendees obtain travel insurance with a minimum coverage of $200,000 USD while traveling with PAPER • PLANES • PASSPORTS. Such insurance must cover personal injury, medical expenses, loss of or damage to luggage, repatriation expenses, and evacuation expenses. Our recommended vendor is TravelSafe Insurance <-- Click to get a quote, purchase and receive a variety of benefits including Trip Cancellation and Interruption, Trip/Travel Delay, Missed Connection, Medical Expenses, Emergency Assistance, Baggage/Baggage Delay, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Cancel For Any Reason.  Please note that you have the choice to use any travel insurance provider you’d like as long as you send us proof of insurance, as it is required for all PAPER • PLANES • PASSPORTS trips. 
Travel insurance plans typically offer coverage for unforeseen circumstances such as Pre-trip sickness or accidents that prohibit you from traveling, Unexpected hospitalization, Medical evacuation, Death in the family. If you plan on traveling with us many times this year, consider getting annual coverage. Contact for a quote.
